Happy Holi





With blooming TESU flowers
However this is just start of the flowering but colourful enough to mark its presence in the landscape. I've been lucky to be at that particular region at just the right time. And it's sheer pleasure to feel this Flame of the Forest so close. "Butea monosperma", commonly known as Dhak, Tesu, Palasi and Chhevla. And every part of this tree is useful in many ways. Having found it's flower's use in medicines, in everyday life in the form of Dona-Pattal made from leaves, it's resin being used in leather industry and so on.
Happy to encounter such a beautiful and useful tree.
