Beautiful Barbet

This beautiful "Coppersmith Barbet" visited our home looking for shelter for him and checked a few tree trunks for making nestling hole in their trunks. This bird makes his nest by carving hole in tree trunks. This happens only when your habitat is surrounded with a variety of trees.  This time I noticed a bunch of Purple Sunbird and an Indian Tree Pie too.

The benefit of growing flowers in your garden enables you to witness beautiful variations in forms, colours and textures. Also if one can spare some time and spend it among flowers, it helps in calming down.

Every time Nature provides you with endless opportunities at the most tough days. This was clicked on a day laden with dense fog while conducting a Wildlife Photography Workshop on December 23rd' 2012. There were a lot of cobwebs with water beads in endless patterns but this especially attracted me due to the interesting pattern of droplets looking like some jewellery.
